About the Author ALICIA YOUNG is an Australian international TV journalist with more than fifteen years’ experience as a medical reporter, foreign correspondent, and news anchor. Prior to journalism, she was a social worker and crisis counselor in the areas of child protection and mental health. Alicia was once told off by Mother Teresa for not having children and has volunteered at a hospice and leprosy hospital in India. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. a great resource for patients and clinicians alike By Elizabeth Rood A compelling read for anyone - and a must-read for those struggling with infertility and contemplating accepting an egg donor, or those on the giving end of that process. While the thrust of the book has to do with the author's personal experiences of donating eggs to two friends, it highlights more generally the many emotional, legal,social and financial challenges involved in such a process. Though the subject matter can be difficult and intense, the author writes with humor and a light touch, making the book delightfully readable. It's a wise and wonderful book and a great resource for anyone dealing with infertility and the sometimes difficult choices to be made.

I struggled with infertility and thankfully, only had to endure 3 IVF's using my own eggs. I feel I won a blue ribbon of sorts in the process. Others are not so lucky. The author shares her story, not for kudos, but to show how one decision can impact so many different lives. I could feel the recipients' joy as they learned they would have an egg donor and finally achieve their dream of a family. This book is packed with information for those interested in the process. Beautifully written and inspiring!

This book is a must for anyone considering donating and for those thinking of IVF. It made me think about friendship and how we define family as well as the importance of honesty in any good relationship.
