Prowse IV describes his own struggle with chronic, debilitating pain and the alternative therapies he found and utilized on his own to finally fix the pain and move on with his life. Prowse claims that we, too, can stop our chronic inflammatory pain cycle with MSTR. He uses the term MSTR frequently throughout the manual, however never defines it. (It turns out MSTR stands for Manual Soft Tissue Release.)Well, I also believe that if we leave doctors out of the equation, we should be able to relieve our own chronic pain. I'm a big believer in "Do It Your Self" and I am gaga over the depth of material presented in this book.This amazing book is chock full of pain relief methods for those who suffer from chronic pain. The photographs demonstrating the techniques for massage, rolling, and scraping are excellent. The descriptions for performing the exercises are clear and easy to follow.I'm particularly delighted with the wonderful diagrams of the muscles that show the locations of the trigger points involved in the release exercises. This book is worth its price of $9.99 just for the diagrams.I have one big "But":But, this amazing reference book/self help guide would be much more helpful if the Table of Contents were improved by adding levels to make it easier to read and manuever through. At least the TOC is "Active". Sadly, it's one big jumble. Sometimes the active link takes you to the heading of the Chapter or Section you want to see, but sometimes it lands you at the end of the chapter and all you can say is "Huh? Where am I?" It would also help to have a second mini-index toward the last part of the book where the author discusses "Individual Injuries" and recaps the pain relief techniques he discusses in detail in the earlier sections of the book.Nevertheless, this amazing self-help guide gets a big Five Stars from me!
