About the Author Laney (Elaine) Zukerman is a certified life coach, professional counselor, college adjunct faculty professor, best selling author and mom. A native New Yorker, she grew up in Brooklyn. Before her move to New York City, she raised her daughters Jaclyn and Laura in Westchester County, New York. Today, Laney works as an educator at a college in New York City and also operates a private practice specializing in relationship issues, empowerment and lifestyle coaching. Prior to her coaching and counseling career, she worked for over a decade as a celebrity manager and public relations consultant to a number of national charities, including the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. And, tapping into her experience as a former cable television producer, she currently helps to mom-manage both her daughters’ media and modeling careers. Laney enjoys living the ultimate Urban Goddess lifestyle and has found her passion in helping empower and encourage women from all walks of life to live their best lives. It will teach you how to be a peaceful warrior, how to be confident and radiat your beauty. It will show you how to have amazing self-esteem. It will teach you to never give up on yourself. It will show you that you can have an "inner bitch" side to yourself but to be humble about it. It will teach you how to overcome loss with courage. This book will teach you about all your uncertainties and make you feel at peace with yourself. It will then go on to talk about Heroes and Heartbreakers, the hero is the man who is almost always going to be a great partner, this person is usually your soulmate. It will teach you how to find your Hero, you will know when you find him. It will show you how to value good communication in all of your relations, whether it be personal, work, physical or spiritual relations. This will be teach the Urban Goddess how to be sincere in all of her actions. This book will also teach you how to deal with a narcissist & how to cope with one if you are dating one. Petriccione A very worthwhile read.What the author means by "goddess" transcends the same old, same old, ancient notion of goddess. It is not about emulating the perfect woman or learning how to acquire a magic formula for success. Rather, it is the author's speaking straight from the heart to reveal the flip (and far more enduring) side of "goddess": that which we might call positive watchfulness," an awareness and balancing of what lies uniquely within with what lies inevitably without; a woman's divinely learning to recognize that all of her life's encounters, from the seemingly routine and uneventful to the painfully life-altering, are really her greatest gifts, hence, priceless, empowering "lessons" which she can use to pave the way to superior wisdom and self acceptance (by "superior," we do not pettishly mean: better than the girl next door's; by "superior," we genuinely mean: abundant unto oneself). Smith Having read many self-help and developmental books over numerous years, it gets to the point where most start sounding alike; same ideas repeated over and over again. Lessons for an Urban Goddess is unique in that it takes ageless wisdom and communicates it in the context of the technologically advanced times we are living in. This is a relationship text book of sorts for the real world.Have you ever read a book and felt that the author was talking about you? Well that is how I felt at times while reading this well written book. Laney Zukerman dispenses practical advice that resonates with a reader who is interested in gaining deeper perspective into relationships. Even more importantly, this book tackles communication strategies to deal with the multitude of different personality types and behaviors that are evident in virtually every relationship.Generally speaking, even though this book is ostensibly written for an “urban goddess”, those men who are interested in not being “blockheads” can succeed in actually learning to reverse-engineer into a partner’s mind. If you are a man who is confused and searching for answers in your relationship, then this is an excellent place to invest your time to listen and learn how to get results.The pacing of the writing style draws a reader in and causes one to not put the book down; you want to see what Laney Zukerman says next. I certainly, for now, will be looking forward to the next book from this author.
