Yes, you can probably do it without this book but your success rate will be much higher if you sit down and read this short book. It list quite a few different ways to dry your plants and explains which are better for different types of plants.

Now that I have read the book and look back on my considerations on doing something like this, the idea seems more realistic. I actually didn't really know that most herbs reproduce quickly. I know that you can get dandelion tea at stores, its a weed/herb, and that stuff grows everywhere. Herbs are actually pretty expensive in my experience, I tend to be pretty liberal in their use and some of those herb jars can run $4-$8 or even more. If you need several then it quickly adds up.I did a quick Google search and saffron sells for $2000/lb, pretty expensive. Nice little income source if you can grow the stuff.Thanks for the info:Chris K.

I really like that the author included all the precautions you must take when collecting the herbs. She has also included recipes which is great. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in this subject.
