Happiness is the way and spiritual joy is attainable By Amazon Customer This was a fantastic book, and it was fascinating to learn about how to find spiritual joy in daily life. I will definitely be using this technique to "dissolve" my negative emotions. I discovered where in my body my negative emotions were manifesting, so now I can relax them. The synopsis for the book did a perfect job of describing the book. The Buddha said that life is suffering, and what that means is that lasting happiness cannot come from outside of us in the mundane world. "Ordinary joy is incomplete," but the author says that doesn't mean we have to give up all of our possessions and live in a cave. We can find spiritual joy without years of meditation. It is expansive and vast, and feels much better than ordinary joy, and is accessible to everyone. I especially loved the poems she included at the end of each chapter. They were all wonderful and thought-provoking. You don't have to be a Buddhist or convert to Buddhism in order to practice spiritual joy. What is spiritual joy? The author defines it as "spiritual joy is best described as an experience of boundless space that is imbued with love, joy, and peace." "Happiness is the way" - The Buddha. This book goes beyond positive thinking and also teaches you how to experience spiritual joy. It might take time and effort for it to become habitual and natural for you, but it takes time and effort to break through our already existing destructive and negative patterns. This book is well worth a read. Overall, I really enjoyed it and was amazed at the simplicity of spiritual joy, that it really is "right in front of our noses."

Spiritual Joy, The Final Piece to the Puzzle By Fashji I want to preface this review by stating that if you have not gone through the rigors of your own spiritual 'path', you may find what Tara Springett speaks about in her Spiritual Joy, The Fastest Way to Enlightenment, to seem farfetched, novel in its scope, marginally useful, or quite pivotal in that it solves the riddle of entering and abiding in the enlightened state. For myself, this bit of Buddhist wisdom was the brilliant and shining final piece to the puzzle of how to finally unlock the door to consciously and consistently dwelling in the resulting fruit of many years of spiritual quest.I must admit when I first saw this book, I thought to myself, 'oh here is another honest but 'new age' attempt at simplifying ancient wisdom'. The next thing I noticed was the novel idea of being a fast way to enlightenment. Is there such a thing as a fast way to the enlightened state of being? One might answer in the affirmative because the Western mind frequently seems to feel as if it is running out of time and must attain 'the goal' before the demise of the physical body and the current personality. Perhaps the idea that spending nearly 45 years of spiritual study to achieve a state of 'critical mass' whereby one final piece pushes one into the transformative, resulting stage of development is excessive. Well, I certainly hope not because that is what I felt after reading Ms. Springett's book.Spiritual Joy is not a new concept or practice as alluded to earlier. The difference is in the way that Tara allows the reader to take baby steps, slowly unfolding into this extraordinary mindset. Certainly, there are methods and tools offered by the writer, as mentioned in earlier reviews. Therefore if that is what will peak your interest in reading this book, then by all means read those reviews. I guess this review is for the student of life who has reached a crossroads or plateau. You may have already experienced the enlightened state through your practice, be it through Kundalini awakening, non duality, or other worthy pursuits or methods. So, do you now live and abide in this well earned state of enlightenment. If not, you might ask yourself why and what was the point of investing so much time and effort. You may find that Spiritual Joy is the final piece to your puzzle of lifelong effort. Similarly, you may find this teaching a shortcut to spending so much time circuitously searching for where you wish to arrive. Even if you are an absolute beginner, there is significant merit in Tara Springett's new literary offering.

I loved the book even more than Tara's other books because it summarises all her insight and experience into one simple practice, Spiritual Joy. In spite of it's simplicity I struggled with it more than the Higher Consciousness Healing meditation (from her book, The Five Minute Miracle) because I simply couldn't believe I could just concentrate on my well being and it would grow on its own. I also had a hard time letting go of my desire to succeed so I lost the necessary spirit of playfulness, became impatient and tried to force myself to feel good- which of course has the opposite effect ;) Tara does warn for all these mistakes in her book but I guess I just had to try them out for myself ;)I am however thankful for that since it helps me appreciate how hard it can be to override these attitudes, so I'm better able to help my own clients. I'm using this and other methods I've learned from Tara in my psychologist practice and already am seeing excellent results. My clients seem to adopt the meditation more easily than I did.Tara views negative emotions as essentially bad habits much like behaviourists do. By simply consistently reacting to negative thoughts and feelings by relaxing, chuckling and turning our attention to positive feelings we can teach the emotional system to react differently to thoughts and stimuli that previously elicited painful feelings. However the practice of Spiritual Joy also connects us to a spiritual dimension that behaviourists will not easily acknowledge. That is something that cannot be proven or explained but must be experienced. I hope you decide to try it out for yourself. If you do it sincerely and don't give up until you have overcome the initial obstacles it will benefit you immensely.
