By Sharon Isch Correction: I just noticed Amazon has marked this review as coming from the "Kindle Edition." Not so. It's from the paperback edition. so, on to my pb review:A few things I would have liked knowing before delving into this book and thought maybe others considering buying it for themselves, or as a gift for a cat fancier, might want to know as well:For starters, nobody--human or feline--is gonna die in this book. For another, it's really about one of the best and most eventful years--1969--in the life of its author, Denis O'Connor, then a bachelor Alnwick College grad student and instructor and, in a supporting role, his Maine Coon cat, Toby Jug, whom he'd rescued as a kitten three years earlier. To my great relief, and I suspect that of other potential readers as well, Toby Jug would go on to live many years beyond the scope of this book. A very good read, indeed. And I recommend it. (Too bad, though, that there aren't any photos. I seriously doubt the cat on the cover is Toby.)

This a great book letting us in on more of the heart warming adventures of Denis and his beloved cat, Toby Jug, in 1969. If you have enjoyed the other books by this author, you really need to add this one to your collection. Denis' love and respect for all animals is apparent through out this book.This book is really about how special a relationship between cats and their people can be. Toby Jug filled avoid in Denis' life and is still part of his life to this day. I hope that Denis will share more adventures with us.
