By Amy Waugh I received this book for free from Third Voice Marketing in order to test and give my unbiased opinion on. All opinions are my own. First, I'd like to say that I absolutely loved the immediate attention I had for the front cover. I'm not quite sure what it was about it but I was immediately drawn to looking at the photo on the front and I believe the design would be eye-catching on a shelf. Second, I think this book is really well put together. It has tabs on the sides and top of the book so you can quickly go to any selected section using the handy index. I was also impressed with the contents of the book and actually learned a few things about brewing your own beer and malt beverages. As a person who doesn't particularly like beer but someone who LOVES DIY (including sausage making, canning, and homemade saurkraut) I found this book to be incredibly helpful. I was drawn to the instructions as they were simple enough for someone of very low intelligence to understand. This book did all the work except putting a homemade brew in your hands. I did give this book to my brother-in-law and I imagine he intends to pursue actually making a homemade beer. I would say this book is DEFINITELY worth your money, even if you, PERSONALLY, are not a fan of beer. There's always someone in your life who does and wouldn't it be nice to impress them with a homemade beer on a hot summer day? Great book, would recommend to anyone who loves DIYs or anyone interested in making their own beer. Super easy to use!

Bainbridge My hubby has always been interested in beer and the beer making process, but at 32 years old, declared himself too old to go back to school to get a chemistry or brew science degree to follow that love to a career. When I received this DIY Beer Brewing book in exchange for my honest opinion, he was excited to read that he can get on that path without the college degree and jumped right in.This book really delves into the how to on beer brewing at home and talks about the why behind things. As someone who just started drinking different types of beers, I really enjoyed the section about different beer glasses and why each one is important to use while hubby was far more invested in the science portions and details about add-ins and the how to's on that.Since I'll be getting in on the brewing with him as a sort of "couple time" thing, I was hoping for a few more photos including the finished products of each recipe so I'd have something to compare to (I wish the same thing of other cookbooks too, so I recognize that isn't the norm nor realistic - but still a wish!).Overall, I found this to be a very informative book about home beer brewing and really solidified hubby's interest in getting more into the beer realm and I think it will help him take the next steps for his love of the brew.
