4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Amazing Cookbook! By Sunny This is a gorgeous, comprehensive, easy-to-understand and incredibly helpful cookbook. It covers every major dish you'd want to know how to cook from Japan and Korea, with full-color illustrations throughout. There's an introduction to the food of each country, pages for every cooking utensil/pot/special gizmo and ingredient the reader might need introduction to, then recipe after recipe that is beautifully presented in very clear English. There's even a breakdown in tiny letters at the bottom of each page telling the calories, protein, fat, carbs, sodium etc of one serving for each dish! One of the best cookbooks I've ever seen for Asian food.

Solid, underrated By Samuel Dram This book is actually a very comprehensive, well-written survey of both Korean and Japanese food, with a wealth of (small) color photos to explain dishes, cooking tools, cooking methods, and history. It's well written, in-depth, and well-explained. A lot of the recipes are good, too. I'm not sure why this book isn't more popular, it's one of the better books on Korean food on the market, and you get Japanese food for free!

So many books have ingredients that you cannot find or something that is not commonly found unless you go to an Asian supermarket. It was a great mix of recipes and tips.
