Simple introduction to a healthy eating plan By Amazon Customer The Mediterranean eating plan is highly recommended by the American Health Association due to its heart healthy ingredients and food preparation. As you might suspect there are a lot of health fats, fish, salads and pasta going on here so lets’ get started.If you can get this book for free, it’s a good introduction to the Mediterranean diet (or rather what I would like to call eating style). However, it is too short and incomplete to be downloaded at a price, since the recipes covered are simplistic in nature.The book has 7 recipes each for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a total of 21 recipes to try. There is a working Table of Contents and each recipe has a high quality photo which I appreciate. I also liked the two fish recipes as many recipe books do not give ideas on how to work with fish. Some of the spacing on my Kindle reader was off on the wrapping of text but I was able to still make out the ingredient list.The recipes mostly contain easy to find ingredients in your pantry and the cooking directions are extremely easy to follow. However, they are simplistic in nature and lack the ”what could go wrong” or “how to personalize” department. Despite being a diet oriented recipe book there is no nutritional data provided so if you are using this as a diet plan, you'll have to figure the calories and nutritional data yourself (easily done online at many diet websites).The breakfast and lunch recipes are a bit heavy on eggs and cheese, but if you like those ingredients (like me) you will be fine with that. Also there is some padding with over-simplistic recipes like Granola Berry Yogurt Crunch, Chickpea Salad and Greek Salad. Since there is only 21 recipes with the padding you are not getting a lot of main meal recipes and hence, along with the lack of nutritional data, I don't feel this book is of value if it has a cost.I think if you approach the book as an introduction and a meal plan for a two weeks this ebook could work for you. Be aware the selections are heavy on eggs, cheese and the dinners are all meat oriented.Reviewed by Cinnabarys.com

The recipes did not disappoint. Some great advice and a ton of great recipes in this one. I am now a fan of the Mediterranean diet. They sure eat good on that side of the world. Recommended

I have also lived in Italy where surprisingly it wasn’t only about pizza and pasta. There is a lot to learn from the Mediterranean diet, the Mediterranean lifestyle and the Mediterraneanpeople. This book offers a good introduction and I would recommend it to all Northern Europeans, Americans and everyone interested in a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Just slow down, and get back to the roots!From my own experience, ever since I switched to the Mediterranean diet I got more energy levels, felt happier and lighter and I also lost lots of weight. Sometimes I do periods of detox and a more restrictive vegan-alkaline diet, but 90% of the time I eat a balanced Mediterranean diet.The Mediterranean diet is like a mix of the Alkaline Diet, the Paleo Diet and the Macrobiotic Diet. You have plenty of fresh fruits and veg, healthy, wholegrain carbohydrates, fish and seafood, meat, legumes, and of course olive oil and wine. As a wellness coach I always recommend this kind of a balanced diet to my clients. One needs to make sure to get all the nutrients that the body needs.I hate fad diets.Surprisingly, Even though I already eat and cook Mediterranean every day the book gave me some new ideas as it has some really great recipes. I must say I was a bit skeptical as I thought I knew pretty much everything and so this ebook was a nice surprise! Even my boyfriend liked the book and said he would give it five star and he is Spanish haha!MY fave recipes are salads, especially pasta salad. Quick, easy, healthy and provides you with new energy, just like this ebook!
