By sue vaughan New parents take note: on especially difficult days you will often be offered some derivation of the useless, "kids don't come with a manual." But guess what - they do now! This fun, quick read was sarcastic, hilarious, heartfelt, touching and most of all true, true, true.

It's raw, real, ridiculously accurate, and will absolutely validate all of your thoughts and feelings as a parent of young children. As a working professional in high tech (who tries to work from home as much as possible) with a 3 year old and 1.5 year old, I feel as though this book could very well be an autobiography of my current life. & my husband agrees wholeheartedly!It's the first book I have read (of many, trust me) that has truly captured what life is really like once you have kids. It's doesn't sugar coat anything & it tells you what most authors are afraid to put in writing. This book will be front and center in my collection, for I look forward to reading it again and again because it may as well be my diary!My husband is also a fan and just nods his head reading certain passages, impressed by the level of accuracy and how it mirrors our life with these little love bugs! Why hasn't anyone done this until now?! This book is a MUST READ and I am so glad that something like this *finally* exists.

By Alyssa Brennan When I was pregnant, my closest friend pulled me aside and said, "I'm going to tell you things about parenting that no one else will ever admit." The information she shared about parenting was, frankly, rather alarming. It turns out that having the straight truth was the best gift I ever received, because it made me feel less alone and less crazy later, when it was just me and a colicky baby in a middle-of-the-night contest to see who could cry the hardest.This book tells you the things my closest friend whispered to me that day, along with many more things I wish she'd added. This book stands apart from the other fifty million sugar-coated parenting books. This is the Lena Dunham of parenting books: brave, raw, real and funny. It's a smart 'heads up' to future parents; no, you're not crazy, and you're definitely not alone!
